St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of all things Irish. The Embassy participates in and organises many special events on the day itself, March 17th, and in the days and weeks around it.

The Global Greening of the Evoluon in Eindhoven

We use this opportunity not only to show the world who we are and what we can do but also to engage with and thank our friends, voluntary and community organisations and the Irish community in The Netherlands for the support and contributions they make to this country.

St. Patrick’s Day also gives us the opportunity to share our culture with others. The Embassy staff work closely with Culture Ireland and local organisations to stage many cultural events drawing lots of positive publicity for Irish culture and for Ireland as a place to visit.

Along with our partners in Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia and Tourism Ireland, we use St Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to promote Ireland and to show the world that Ireland is open for business.

St. Patrick's Day 2014

In 2014, our Embassy worked with the State Agencies on a programme which included:

  • organising official events with a strong trade focus.
  • a visit to The Netherlands by Minister Michael Ring T.D.
  • participating in the "Global Greenings" of the the Evoluon in Eindhoven
  • attending a series of events, including business networking events.
