Visa Information

Update 16 December 2021

The Short-Stay Visa Waiver Programme has resumed.

The Short-Stay Visa Waiver Programme allows nationals of certain countries, who have entered the UK on foot of certain UK short stay visas, to travel to Ireland without the requirement to obtain an Irish visa. They instead may use the time remaining on their current leave to remain in the UK. This programme is available to Turkey and Qatar.

Visa processing returned to normal from Monday the 13th of September 2021.

The first step in the visa application process is to complete the online application, then consult the Irish Immigration Service Site for details on what supporting documentation is needed and finally book an appointment to submit in Turkey or Azerbaijan and Qatar.

All travellers arriving into Ireland must continue to comply fully with measures required by law including producing proof of vaccination, recovery from Covid-19 or a negative PCR test to Immigration Control at their port of entry. Latest requirements can be found via the Government of Ireland website.
