Important:

We strongly advise you to apply for your visa well in advance of your travel date. You should also make allowance for the time it takes to send the application by courier to Abu Dhabi. Please read the visa processing time frame tab for general guidelines on visa processing timeframes.

Submitting Applications

Applications should be posted to the Irish Visa Office in Abu Dhabi.

Irish Visa Office
Al Yasat Street off 6th Street
Al Bateen
P.O. Box 61581
Abu Dhabi
United Arab Emirates

We can only accept visa applications which have been made on-line on the INIS website. An application can only be processed when the on-line form is completed AND the required supporting documentation, passport photographs and appropriate fee are received. It is no longer possible to apply using a downloaded/paper application form.

Submitting your documents to the Visa Office

It is your responsibility to ensure you have sent the Visa Office all the necessary documents in order for a decision to be made. In advance of beginning your visa application, please consult the homepage of INIS for full information regarding the documentation required to accompany your visa application.

Only when you have checked the requirements for the visa you are seeking and have all of the necessary papers should you send the application to this office for processing.

Original Documents: If you wish to have original documents returned you should state this in your application and also provide photocopies of the originals. It will be your responsibility to arrange for the original documents to be returned to you by courier service after a decision has been made.

Submitting Copies of your Passport

DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT. You must submit good quality and clearly legible photocopies of all pages of your passport. If the visa officer cannot clearly see the details on your passport you may be required to submit new copies at your own cost. If you have previous passports you must submit copies of these also.

Submitting your Application on time

You must submit your application by courier ‘immediately’ after you have printed down the AVATS online summary sheet. After 30 days it is possible that the application will be deleted from the visa system unless it has been received by the Abu Dhabi Visa Office. Please read the visa processing timeframe tab for generally guidelines on visa processing timeframes.

Payment of Visa Processing fee

Please read carefully information contained on the Payment Method tab on this website. Particular note should be made of bank fees charged by UAE banks.

Decision/Collection of Visa

Every Thursday, a report detailing all decisions made in the previous week at the Visa Office Abu Dhabi is posted to the Weekly Decision Reports page. Please use your unique online application number to search these reports for your decision.

If you are granted a visa you will contacted by this Visa Office to make arrangements for the provision of the visa to you. It is possible to collect visas in Tunis, Casablanca or Valetta, Malta if specifically requested. The relevant addresses of the Honorary Consulates in those cities are listed on this website under the country index.

Please ensure you read the Supporting Documents Section on this website so that you are aware of what documents you need to submit with your visa application. You will also find the list of supporting documentation required for the main types of visas on the INIS website.

Applications received without the necessary supporting documents and or information will delay the processing of your application or may result in it being refused.

Payment of the Visa Fee to the Abu Dhabi Visa Office

The fee for processing your visa application will be 255 AED for a single entry visa and 425 AED for a multiple entry. A transit visa will be 110 AED.

You must lodge the relevant fees to the Embassy of Ireland, Abu Dhabi, UAE bank account, details below. We do not accept cash, cheques, postal orders, or bank drafts at the Visa Office. The office is not in a position to return cash, drafts, cheques or postal orders to applicants who have sent these to the Visa Office.

The appropriate fee should be paid in AED by bank transfer. Additional bank charges may apply, both in Algeria and the UAE, which are exclusive of the application fee. In our experience UAE bank charges vary but can be up to 40 AED per transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct fee is transferred in full. Receipt of payment is required which clearly demonstrates full payment in AED. Any short-fall in payment as a result of the deduction of bank charges will result in your application not being processed with no refund of fees paid. Over-payments of the visa fee will not be refunded.

The bank account details are as follows:

Name of holder: Embassy of Ireland, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Account number: 1411003342999027
Bank: First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC , H.O. Sheikh Kalifa Street, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Swiftcode: NBADAEAAXXX
IBAN No: AE620351411 0033 42999027

Important:

Applications received without a receipt of payment will be delayed until the Visa Office has evidence of your visa fee payment to the Embassy bank account. When submitting your application you must enclose a confirmation of payment. When making the payment to the bank you should also indicate your name or your AVATS reference number on the lodgment slip. This is to ensure we are easily able to track your application to the fees lodged to the Embassy bank account.

Please see below information on general processing times for visa applications received from Algeria. You should note that these are indicative processing times only. Applications are dealt with in the order they are received and can take longer than the stated timeframes below depending on the volume of applications being received, the time of year (especially peak periods) or the level of complexity of a particular visa application. If you wish to travel to Ireland or pass through an Irish port in order to travel to another state you may need an Irish visa.

You may need a visa to travel to Ireland even if you live in Ireland.

A visa is a paper document affixed to a page of the holder's passport.  It permits a person to travel to Ireland during the validity period stated on the visa. It does not guarantee entry to the State. An Immigration Officer at the port of entry has the authority to grant or deny admission, and to decide  the duration of a person’s stay in the State.
