The Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center

The mission of the Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center is to sponsor and support programmes and activities in the Delaware Valley (includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware) that teach, celebrate and promote Irish art, culture, and heritage. Irish Seniors, Irish Immigrants, Veterans, first generation descendants of Irish Immigrants, and Irish-Americans benefit from the Arts & Cultural Center programs. The Arts & Cultural Center believes the best resources within the Irish community are the senior community. The Arts & Cultural Center incorporates multi-generational activities so the elderly Irish immigrants can teach the younger people about Ireland and its rich heritage.

In 2017 The Emigrant Support Programme was delighted to support the Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center in Philadelphia and provide funding for three important projects:

  1. Commodore Arts & Cultural Center Senior Programmes
  2. Commodore Arts & Cultural Center Music Classes
  3. Commodore Arts & Cultural Center Heritage Events
