How much does an Irish passport cost

Please note that USD fees for passports are regularly updated to keep in line with the Euro fees charged by the Passport Office in Ireland. Please also note that since 11 April 2011, fees also apply to persons aged 65 and over.

Type Eligibility Fee (in USD)
Standard 10 Year Available only to those aged 18 years and older $108
Large 10 Year Available on request to very frequent travellers aged 18 years and older $149
Standard 3 Year Issued to children under 3 years of age $22
Standard 5 Year Issued to youths aged between 3 and 17 years inclusive $36
Courier Fee   $13

Additional fees apply for emergency travel documents issued outside normal hours of opening and/or for same/next day delivery.

Fees may vary across our network of offices in the USA – this is due to the different postage/courier fees that may apply.

Payment

The Consulate ONLY accepts payment for passports in the form of money order or certified bank check/draft. Payments should be made payable to “Consulate General of Ireland”

We do not currently accept credit card, debit cards, cash or personal checks.
