There is an additional €5 postal fee for each child application to cover the cost of returning documents to the applicant.
There is an additional €5 postal fee if you reside outside Ireland.
Please note that a single payment of €5 applies to applications for children resident outside Ireland.
Please note that USD fees for passports are regularly updated to keep in line with the Euro fees charged by the Passport Office in Ireland. Please also note that since 11 April 2011, fees also apply to persons aged 65 and over.

|If you are not collecting your new passport and original documents from the Consulate in person please include a $13 courier fee per applicant with your submission. For example an adult over 18 applying for a 10 year standard passport should provide a total fee of $118 ($105 + $13 = $118)||$13|

The Consulate ONLY accepts payment for passports in the form of money order or certified bank check/draft. Payments should be made payable to “Consulate General of Ireland”.
We do not currently accept credit card, debit cards, cash or personal checks.
Where to apply
The Embassy of Ireland in Washington DC accepts passport applications from Irish citizens resident in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia or the Caribbean Islands.
Due to high levels of demand, passport applications are taking a minimum of eight weeks to process. Please note that if your passport application is incomplete or unclear, processing may take longer than eight weeks.
The Passport Office at the Consulate General of Ireland In New York is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 10am to 2pm. You can lodge your application in person during these times; alternatively you can mail your application to:
