How much does an Irish passport cost

Please note that USD fees for passports are regularly updated to keep in line with the Euro fees charged by the Passport Office in Ireland. Please also note that since 11 April 2011, fees also apply to persons aged 65 and over.

Fees are effective from 30 March, 2017

Adult 10 year $105
Adult large 10 year $135
Minor, age 0-17 years, 5 year passport $50
Emergency Travel Document* $35
Additional Fees
Out of hours fee** $90
Passport Certification Fee*** $45
Postage Fees

If you are not collecting your new passport and original documents from the Consulate in person please include a $13 courier fee per applicant with your submission. For example an adult over 18 applying for a 10 year standard passport should provide a total fee of $118 ($105 + $13 = $118)

Fees may vary across our network of offices in the USA - this is due to the different postage/courier fees that may apply.

The Consulate ONLY accepts payment for passports in the form of money order or certified bank check/draft. Payments should be made payable to “Consulate General of Ireland”

We do not currently accept credit card, debit cards, cash or personal checks.
