Easter 1916: Ireland's Republican Uprising, Its Causes and Effects

Workers' Educational Association Sydney

5 April – 10 May

This six week course at the WEA Sydney examines whether the 1916 Rising was another ‘glorious defeat’ or the birth-pains of a new nation and will explore the motives, methods and mythologies of this crucial event in the history of modern Ireland.

The course will trace the causes and effects of the Easter Rising within 300 years of Irish-British relations and place the Rising in a wider context.

For more information and to sign up for the course visit the WEA website.
