Swing’ A production by Fishamble: The New Play Company
The Street theatre, Canberra

10 – 14 May

In association with Merrigong Theatre company, The Street presents ‘Swing’ by Steve Blount, Peter Daly, Gavin Kostick and Janet Moran, a production by Fishamble: The New Play Company.

This delightful hit production from Ireland, comes fresh from success in New York, Paris, Edinburgh and New Zealand. Swing is a heart-warming romantic comedy about being brave, trying your best and thinking outside the box.

Joe is a divorced father seeking a new job after losing his business during Ireland’s recession. May is a graphic artist who is looking to fill in time while her boyfriend is away. They meet at an evening dance class, and begin to fumble their way through the dance steps, romantic dilemmas, career problems and life choices.

The brilliant Irish cast portray a colourful array of characters, both hilariously funny and heartbreakingly real. With its rousing finale, Swing is all about living as well as you can and ‘giving it a lash’…with rock and roll music.

Swing is supported by Culture Ireland as part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme.
