St Patrick's Day Greening in Athens - Hadrian's Arch

St Patrick's Day Greening in Athens - Hadrian's Arch

St Patrick's Day Greening of Hadrian's Arch, Athens, Greece

While we face unprecedented challenges throughout Europe and the wider world, we are heartened to see that Greece will quietly celebrate St Patrick's Day with its first ever greening of an ancient historical site, the Arch of Hadrian, on 16 and 17 March 2020. The Global Greenings is an initiative of the Irish Tourism Board, Tourism Ireland, which sees hundreds of major landmarks around the world turn green for St Patrick's Day.

Although we have had to cancel our annual National Day celebrations to protect public safety, Ireland and Greece, along with all EU Member States, stand shoulder to shoulder through this crisis.

Thank you, Athens, and Happy St Patrick's Day.

With every good wish from the Embassy of Ireland.
