Relations between Ireland and Hungary are excellent. Ireland and Hungary work closely together as partners in the European Union, share interests in common, and enjoy growing economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties. There is a flourishing two-way trade relationship, worth € 1.5 billion in 2017.

Located in Budapest, the mission of the Embassy of Ireland is to grow and deepen bilateral relations with Hungary in all areas, including economy and trade. The Embassy works closely with Enterprise Ireland, the agency responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets, and Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board. The Embassy collaborates with these and other Irish state agencies to promote Ireland’s trade and investment objectives, promote Irish exports, food, culture, heritage and traditions. The Embassy cooperates with the agencies to support Irish companies looking to enter or expand in the Hungarian market, and to implement the Government of Ireland’s strategy, Ireland Connected: Trading and Investing in a Dynamic World.
