Network Irlandii - for Poles who have lived in Ireland

Network Irlandii –for Poles who have lived in Ireland

Over the last two decades many Poles have lived, studied and worked in Ireland.  The Polish community is a highly valued part of Irish society, but there are many Poles who have returned to Poland from Ireland, and whose contact with Ireland the Embassy of Ireland in Warsaw wishes to encourage and promote.

Network Irlandii is a new initiative of the Embassy, which will create contact networks of Polish friends of Ireland who have lived in Ireland, and will support and encourage their engagement with Ireland.

Network Irlandii’s first step is the establishment of a network of Polish officials who were brought to Ireland in the 1990s and 2000s with funding from Government of Ireland, to share our experience of engaging on EU issues and our public administration in Ireland, as part of Ireland’s strong support for Poland’s accession to the EU.  These officials now serve Poland in a wide variety of senior posts.  The Embassy of Ireland will launch this network at an event on 25 June, and members will meet again at regular events organised by the Embassy.

Future plans for Network Irlandii include the creation of networks of Poles who have studied at Irish colleges and Universities and worked in Ireland.
