"De profundis" is a famous letter by Oscar Wilde, written to his friend and lover Alfred Douglas during his imprisonment in Reading Gaol.

The premiere of the new "De profundis" Polish translation, published as part of the “Great Writers in New Translation" series, will take place in Kraków on Friday 12th January at 5:00 PM. Participants in the event will be: Agata Bielik-Robson (author of the introduction), Renata Lis (editor of the book), Maciej Stroiński (translator) and Michał Płaczek (literary critic). Excerpts from De profundis will be read by actors of the National Old Theatre: Katarzyna Krzanowska and Juliusz Chrząstowski.
