Council of Europe’s 2014 North-South Prize

The Council of Europe’s 2014 North-South Prize will be awarded to Irish citizen, Sister Doctor Maura Lynch, an Irish doctor-surgeon and obstetrician, for her work on behalf of the poor and vulnerable people in South Saharan Africa, especially her ground-breaking work with women whose lives have been devastated by obstetric fistula.

Ambassador Anne Webster nominated Sister Doctor Lynch for this prestigious award which will be presented by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Professor Cavaco Silva, on 1st July 2015, 11am, in the Portuguese Parliament.
