Will the documents I submit be returned to me?

No. Documents submitted in support of your visa application will not be returned to you. All supporting documentation (bank statements, letters of employment/study, car/property ownership certificates, marriage certificates, birth certificates etc) should be in English or accompanied by a notarised translation. It is sufficient to send in copies of these documents. Original documents are not required with the exception of work permits. Your original work permit will be returned to you.
