With a view to preventing identity theft and the circulation of falsified passports, there are additional safeguards for the passport application procedure for adult first time applicants.

In addition, applicants may need to provide further information if requested and/or to attend for interview at the Consulate General.
It should be noted that it will not be possible to offer any form of expedited service where a passport has been lost or stolen.
Please note also that the Passport Office reserves the right to contact witnesses to verify details. If it is not possible to make contact with a witness, an application may be rejected.
