The Consulate General of Ireland San Francisco offers consular services to the following states;

Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, Colorado, New Mexico, Guam & the Marianas.

To check the status of your passport please track it through the DFA Track your Passport website. For any other passport questions please contact our consular officers via WebChat who can be reached Monday to Friday 6:30am-12:30pm.

For COVID-19 Updates or Travel related questions, please note that our consular officers are working off the same information that can be found on our website. Any updated information will be posted online. 

 *Please note that the Consulate General of Ireland San Francisco does not processes Foreign Birth Registrations (FBR) - obtaining Irish citizenship through an Irish-born grandparent, and can not advise on or access FBR applications. Processing of Foreign Birth registration has resumed in Dublin on a phased basis from Monday 15 November, 2021. At present, due to the complex nature of the Foreign Birth Registration and the pause in the Service due to the Covid-19 restrictions you should allow approximately 2 years for processing of Foreign Birth Registration applications at this time. For help with FBR applications, check out this instructional video. **Please note processing times in video are no longer accurate, for up to date information visit the FBR hub.

Due to the high volume of visa applications processed at the Consulate General of Ireland, we cannot provide status updates on visa applications. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate your travel dates and will only contact you if anything is wrong with your application. Passport WebChat

Our Passport WebChat is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 3.30pm ET / 8.30am - 2.30pm CST / 6:30am-12:30pm PT. Chats may be recorded for training and quality control purposes.
