Are there any countries which I can’t travel to on my Emergency Passport?

Yes. Irish emergency passports are non-biometric and some jurisdictions do not permit travel to holders of non-biometric passports.

Some countries require holders of Emergency Passports to apply for a visa before travel. Emergency Passport holders cannot avail of the visa waiver scheme (USA) or visa on arrival facilities (South Africa) and must apply to the relevant Embassy/High Commission to have a visa put in their passport.

The Embassy is aware that the Indonesian authorities will generally not permit entry to Indonesia on Irish emergency passports.

This is not an exhaustive list and it is your responsibility to determine if an emergency passport is acceptable for the country you intend to travel to.
