If you are looking for information on how to apply for a passport, all passport applications from Canada are now online. Please visit Passport Online - Department of Foreign Affairs (dfa.ie) for information on how to apply, and contact details for the passport office. The Embassy cannot assist with queries regarding online passport applications. You can receive a status update or track your passport application at Track your Passport - Department of Foreign Affairs (dfa.ie). Please do not contact the Embassy to enquire about a passport application that has been submitted within the current processing time, as listed on the Passports page, unless in case of emergency.  

If you are interested in applying for visa for Ireland, including working holiday authorisations please visit Our Services - Department of Foreign Affairs (dfa.ie)  and check out the visa page for further details. If you are calling for a status update on your application, please note that we cannot provide status updates for visa applications that have been processing less than ten weeks, or working holiday authorisation applications that have been processing less than eight weeks. Please note only Canadian citizens are eligible to apply for working holiday authorisations.

If you are looking for information on travel advice and entry requirements for Ireland, the most up to date information can be found on gov.ie - Current rules for travelling to Ireland (www.gov.ie) The Embassy cannot provide guidance or assistance with Canadian travel restrictions or mandates. The Embassy also cannot provide information on immigration in Canada or PR cards. For these queries, you should liaise with the appropriate Canadian authority.

All foreign birth registration processing is now done in Dublin. Please call +353 1 568 3331 for information or updates on foreign birth registration applications.

  • Your contact details (mobile phone number or phone number of where you’re staying)

We regularly monitor these messages and one of our staff members will be in contact with you. Please note that non-urgent queries to this mailbox will not be responded to.
