Mr Damien English T.D., Minister of State for Skills, Research and Innovation visits Slovakia to promote Ireland and mark St. Parick's Day

Mr Damien English T.D., Minister of State for Skills, Research and Innovation visited Slovaia from 15 - 16 March 2015. On arrival, he met representatives of Ryanair and Bratislava Airport and welcomed the opening of a new Ryanair base in Bratislava whic represents an investment of US$200,000 by the airline.

During the visit, Minister of State English, Ambassador Callan and Ladislav Müller of Enterprise Ireland held meetings with Mr Juraj Draxler, Minister of Education Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, Mr Vazil Hudák, State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mr RastislavChovanec, State Secretary in the Minstry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and Mr Peter JavorĨik, State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. Issues discussed included entrepreneurship, support for start-ups, research and innovation as well as the possibilities for future cooperation and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Before departing Minister English launched the greening fo the Carlton Hotel in Bratislava with the Deputy Mayor of Bratislava, MUDr Iveta Plšeková amd addressed guests at the Embassy's St Patrick's Day Reception.
