July Book Club

July Book club poster

Regular book club attendees will recall that we held a poll to decide which books the Book Club would read for the rest of the year. Well, the results are in...

Topping the poll is Úna-Minh Kavanagh’s Anseo, followed closely by Hugo Hamilton’s Dublin Palms and Normal People by Sally Rooney. Thanks to everyone who voted – and don’t worry if your favourite book didn’t make it in this time, there will be other opportunities.

So we’ll start with Anseo, which we’ll read on July 1st. All are welcome, particularly if this is your first book club. You can register via Eventbrite here. We’re also very happy to announce that we will hopefully have the author join us for part of the call for a Q&A session – so that should be something to look forward to!

Anseo is a contemporary story of the author's adoption from Vietnam to Kerry, the love of her small family and the power of the Irish language to overcome loss, racism and online trolls. The book is available to be delivered to Germany from Irish retailers like KennysEason and Dubray as well as through many of the large online retailers.

We'll meet via Zoom again - sign up for a ticket here and a link will follow before the event.
