Letter from Ambassador Duffy to the Irish Community in Malta

Dear Friends, a chairde, għeżież ħbieb,

I hope that you and your families are keeping well during this very difficult time.

The efforts of solidarity undertaken by everyone has provided a pillar of support to the health authorities in Malta in their brave fight in tackling covid-19.

I urge you to continue to provide this support and follow the decisions that have been made to keep us safe. Very helpful resources include the Ministry for Health’s Information Page and the Government of Malta covid-19 website. These resources also provide details for the range of helplines operated by the Maltese authorities. Public health advice from the HSE in Ireland is available on https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus.html

I invite you to visit our website and continue to follow updates on our social media channels. You can also register your presence in Malta with us on https://www.dfa.ie/travel/citizens-registration/ which will help us make contact with you in the event of an emergency.

It is especially challenging for the many people who are apart from their loved ones at this time. It is important to keep in touch and technology can help. Our strength is in community and we look out for each other. Please stay safe and look forward to the good news which will arrive eventually. In the meantime, we are here to assist our citizens in need.

Beir bua agus beannacht,

Patrick Duffy
Ambassador
