Ambassador McGauran presents credentials to President Čaputová

Ireland’s new Ambassador, Mr. Dermot McGauran, presented his credentials to the President of the Slovak Republic, Her Excellency Ms. Zuzana  Čaputová at the Grassalkovich Palace on 9 September 2021. Accompanied by his wife, Estelle and the Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, Janet O’Sullivan, Ambassador McGauran handed over his letters of credence from the President of Ireland, His Excellency Michael D. Higgins to the President of the Slovak Republic.  During their meeting, President Čaputová and Ambassador McGauran discussed our excellent bilateral relations as well as a number of important international issues including climate change and the pandemic. The Ambassador looks forward to  broadening and deepening Ireland’s engagement and connections with the Slovak Republic in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
