Ambassador McGauran visits the elementary school Javorová alej in Chorvátsky Grob.

Ambassador McGauran paid a second visit to the elementary school Javorová alej 1 in Chorvátsky Grob on 16 March where he talked to the pupils about Saint Patrick’s Day and its importance for Irish people around the world. The children asked many searching questions about Saint Patrick and Irish traditions and folklore.

The Ambassador then planted an Irish oak tree (Quercus Petraea) on the grounds.  As it grows, this tree will enhance the environment and will be enjoyed by future generations of schoolchildren. The Embassy team would like to thank the school Principal, teachers and especially the pupils for their very warm welcome.
