Global Irish Summer Camp 2016
In November 2015 the Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., announced the launch of a pilot summer camp programme for students.
The initiative provided younger members of the Irish diaspora, who would ordinarily have never got the chance to visit Ireland, to travel here for a short immersive programme that incorporated educational and heritage elements.
As envisaged in 'Global Irish: Ireland's Diaspora Policy,' this pilot project is now being reviewed. The discussions at the Global Irish Civic Forum on 4-5 May in Dublin Castle will form an important element of the review of the implementation of the Diaspora policy, including a number of pilot initiatives. We will update this page with more information at that stage.
