The 24th annual festival of the best independent films created by Irish filmmakers celebrating diversity and creativity through short, documentary and feature films. This event is one of the highlights of our year and we can’t recommend it highly enough – a true representation of the very best in Irish film making!

March 19 at 6:30 pm Shane Hennessy – Mayfair Theater, Irish American Heritage Center - Billed as “one of the most exciting live performers of his generation, with an ability to move between styles and genres with ease” by Irish Music Magazine, an exciting mix of jazz, blues, country, soul, traditional Irish music, and world music.

Mar 3-5 Registration is now open for the annual Tionól Gaeilge 2023 (Irish Language Immersion Weekend) in Milwaukee at the UWM Center for Celtic Studies.
Mar 12 from 11 am – 2:30 pm: Passport to Ireland at CelticMKE - A family fun day out where the center is transformed into Irish destinations for children and families featuring interactive activities which celebrate Irish culture, history, and traditions. Children will get their passports stamped along the way, earning a prize at the end of their journey. Enjoy a variety of Irish dance performances and keep a look out for a wandering Irish storyteller! At our Celtic Café, we'll have lunch and snack options available.

Award-winning folk singer Aoife Scott is a songwriter based in Dublin, Ireland. Born into the legendary Black Family, Aoife is steadily rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene. Her music has a broad creative scope but is largely influenced by her own roots in folk and traditional Irish music. She is ASLR Celtic Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year 2020 and she also received ASLR Celtic Music Awards Female Vocal Album of the Year 2021 for her second album, "HomeBird"!

Join Dr. Kevin Byrne and Dr. Steven Griffith for a free, two-night discussion of Anne Haverty’s, Constance Markievicz: Irish Revolutionary (2016). Constance Gore-Booth was born into the privileged world of a wealthy Protestant landowning family in County Sligo, Ireland in 1868. Artist, author, actress, poet, she married Casimir Dunin Markievicz, a Polish count, in 1900. Countess Constance Markievicz became an important voice in the Irish Republican movement, was second in command in St. Stephen’s Green during the Easter Rising, was the first woman elected to the British Parliament, took the anti-Treaty side during the Irish Civil War, and was the first woman to hold a government cabinet position.
