Launch of the Ireland Fellows Programme for Latin America

The Embassy of Ireland, Bogotá, is pleased to announce the launch of the Ireland Fellows Programme - Latin America. The Ireland Fellows Programme Roger Casement Award in Human Rights was established to honour the memory of the Irish human rights activist Roger Casement, who served as British Consul-General in Brazil in the early twentieth-century. Roger Casement was instrumental in shedding light on human rights abuses in the Amazon region. With his humanitarian legacy in mind, we will work with partners in Colombia and Venezuela to deliver the Roger Casement Award to enable young professionals to undertake a master’s level course of study in the field of Human Rights in Ireland each year.

Selected students will have the opportunity to undertake a fully funded one-year master’s level programme at a higher education institution (HEI) in Ireland, usually commencing in August or September 2023.

Applications are by invitation only and are restricted to the staff of government departments, NGOs and international organisations working in partnership with Irish Aid and the Embassy of Ireland in Colombia and Venezuela. The Ireland Fellows Programme promotes gender equality, equal opportunity, and welcomes diversity.

Full details on the Fellows Programme, including eligibility criteria, the directory of eligible programmes and the application process, are available at https://www.irishaidfellowships.ie/strands/ireland-fellows-programme-latin-america

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 13th November 2022
