Success for New Architecture: Ireland exhibition at KTH

The New Architecture: Ireland exhibition had a successful run at KTH School of Architecture in Stockholm 16 to 28 November 2015. Launched at a special event at KTH on 16th November 2015 by the head of the School of Architecture, Anders Johansson, and Ambassador O’Hanrahan, the exhibition showcased six new and exciting Irish architectural practices to a wide audience including students and faculty at KTH as well as members of the public.

New Architecture: Ireland Exhibition

On Monday 16th November at 17:00 the Ambassador of Ireland Orla O’Hanrahan and the KTH School of Architecture inaugurates the launch of New Architecture: Ireland at Osqars Backe 5. The launch will be followed by a lecture at 18:00 by Shelley McNamara, co-founder of award-winning Grafton Architects Ireland.

Successful Irish Design 2015 visit to Stockholm

On 20 October 2015, a delegation from Irish Design 2015, led by Minister Ged Nash T.D. visited Stockholm as part of an Irish design feasibility study. The visit is being organised as part of Irish Design 2015 (www.irishdesign2015.ie), a programme exploring, promoting and celebrating Irish design and designers through events and activities on the island of Ireland and in international capitals of design and commerce.

Heads of Mission Conference

19/20 February 2015

The Embassy recently hosted a regional Conference for the Ambassadors in Denmark, Estonia Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moscow and Norway. The event, chaired by the Secretary General at the Department of Foreign Affairs also included senior officials responsible for EU matters, Trade Promotion and Corporate Affairs. The discussion over two days focussed on Ireland’s priorities in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Welcome to Ambassador O’Hanrahan

We are delighted to welcome to Sweden our new Ambassador, Orla O’Hanrahan, and her spouse, Claude Malone. We wish them every good wish for a successful posting. We also take this opportunity to extend every good wish to Jim and Margot Carroll as they begin the next chapter of their lives back in Dublin.
