Minister John Halligan T.D. leads trade visit to Gothenburg

Minister of State with special responsibility for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development John Halligan T.D. led a trade mission to Gothenburg on 11 and 12 April 2018. The visit began with a courtesy call on the Lord Mayor of Gothenburg, Ms Lena Malm, after which Minister Halligan addressed the Automotive Gothenburg conference hosted by Business Region Gothenburg (BRG) in Lindholmen Science Park. Following the conference the Minister discussed the importance of collaboration between industry and academia with Niklas Wahlberg, CEO of Lindholmen Science Park. The trade mission ended with a trip to the Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services (VECS) conference, where Minister Halligan visited the Enterprise Ireland information stand and met with the Irish companies attending the conference. The Minister also met with a range of local contacts from Volvo, BRG and Lindholmen R&D during his time in Gothenburg.

Minister Halligan was accompanied during his visit by Ambassador Dympna Hayes and by Marina Donohoe and John Roche of Enterprise Ireland.
