Naturalisation

If you want to apply for Irish citizenship through naturalisation, you need to contact the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service.

What is naturalisation?

Naturalisation is a process whereby a non-Irish national can apply to become an Irish citizen.

Applying for naturalisation:

All applications for Irish citizenship are dealt with by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service of the Department of Justice and Equality.

You need to:

  1. Check that you're eligible for Irish citizenship
  2. Complete the appropriate application form
  3. Submit your form to the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service.
