Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence visits Riga

On 26 May 2022, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence of Ireland, Simon Coveney, T.D., visited Riga and met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs. The Ministers discussed a range of issues, including ongoing and increased support for Ukraine, the security situation in the region and the positive bilateral relations between Latvia and Ireland.

“Very positive meeting with friend and colleague Foreign Minister of Latvia. Our shared solidarity and support for Ukraine is absolute on tougher sanctions, Ukraine’s EU ambitions, humanitarian and military support and the search for peace,” Minister Coveney said on Twitter following the meeting.
