The Passport Service is receiving an unprecedented level of applications and customer queries. To get your passport as soon as possible, here is what you need to do:

1. Check your passport is in date before booking any travel.

2. Apply early - demand is high.

3. Apply online- on average it’s four times faster than paper. For the quickest way to apply or renew, visit dfa.ie/passportonline

4. Check here for any documents you need to submit.

5. First time applications will take longer to process. Current processing times are here.

Once you have made an application and checked all relevant online resources, if you require clarification regarding your application please contact our Customer Service Hub who will be happy to assist you.
