Ambassador Mulhall fondly remembered his recent visits to Southwestern region since arriving in the U.S. in 2017 and commented on how is eager to return to the region in the future.

The Ambassador thanked the Irish community organizations for the support they are offering throughout our region to ensure the St Patrick’s Day 2021 is the largest celebration of Ireland and Irish culture.

The Ambassador was joined by the Consul General of Ireland, Claire McCarthy, the Honorary Consul of Ireland in Denver, James Lyons, the Honorary Consul of Ireland in New Orleans, Judge James McKay, and the Honorary Consul General in Houston, John Kane.

The Ambassador also spoke about the Irish Government's response to current global pandemic including the COVID-19 Response Fund to support Irish community initiatives that protect the elderly and mitigate the impact of social isolation; meet the needs of vulnerable and newly vulnerable communities; provide additional mental health supports and bereavement counselling; and offer innovative ways to provide services online.
