There will be a gathering of members of the Irish community at Mulligan's Bar on "Slavyanska" Street, No. 24, on 22 June, Wednesday, to watch the game with Italy at 10pm. You are most welcome to come along and enjoy the game. Please feel free to join us tonight at the new Murphy's Bar on "Shipka" Street, No. 48, for the game Northern Ireland-Germany at 7pm.

Irish Related Events in Sofia this coming week
The coming week marks the staging of two events one of which promoting Irish culture while the other promotes Irish Science.
Wednesday, 11th May – European Night of Literature will see a number of readings in Bulgarian of an extract from the book ‘The Black Eyed Blond’ by Benjamin Black. Benjamin Black is the pseudonym of the Irish author and former Booker Prize winner John Banville. The readings start at 18:00 and will be repeated every half hour until 21:30. The venue is Klub na Pateshestvenika, ul Serdika 19 and the reader is Stanimir Gamov.
Thursday, 12th May – a talk entitled ‘The Whole World Is a Stage or the Tale about Science’ will be delivered by Fergus McAuliffe and will take place between 17:00-18:00 at the Main Stage, Sofia Theatre.
Fergus who won the 2013 FameLab International award, will share his experience of winning the big award in Cheltenham (when he made the Canadian wood frog famous worldwide), the following media interest and invitations for TED talks, and the move to a full-time science communication job with those who attend.
Fergus is a PhD researcher at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University College Cork and TV anchor of The Science Squad and 10 Things to Know About... on the RTE (Irish National Television).
This event is free but you will need to get a pass. From 20 April to 13 May you can collect event passes from the British Council Customer Service Centre at 7 Krakra Street in Sofia. Due to the limited number of passes available, during this period, one person can claim up to 6 passes.
In English language, interpretation to Bulgarian provided.
Both events are held in partnership with the Embassy of Ireland, Sofia.

March activities in Chepelare

This year again, the Town Hall building in the Bulgarian Southwestern town and ski resort of Chepelare will be illuminated in green to celebrate the strong bonds between the people of Chepelare and their friends from Ireland and as part of the world wide greening associated with St. Patrick's Day.

For another year the St. Patrick's Charity Ball will support the cause of the Cedar Foundation. Saint Patrick's Festival Ball will be held on Friday, 11th March 2016 at the Hilton Hotel, Sofia.
