Minister Dara Calleary’s trade mission to Poland

Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital, and Company Regulation, Dara Calleary, led a trade mission of thirty companies to Poland on 16 May.

Trade between Ireland and Poland grew by over 20 per cent in 2022 to over €5.6 billion, and Irish companies are present in virtually every sector of the Polish economy.

During his visit, the Minister visited a number of Irish companies operating in Poland, including ICON, JFC, and PM Group, as well companies active in the growing field of cyber security.

The Minister also met the CEO of Allegro, Poland’s online retailer. Allegro serves a market of around 60 million people. 74 Irish companies use the platform so far, with potential for significant growth.

Speaking after the visit, Ambassador Haughey said “It was fantastic to see first-hand the innovation, commitment, and skill of Irish companies in Poland. Poland is a market with huge potential for Irish companies, and working closely with colleagues in Enterprise Ireland, we want support the continued strong growth of Irish-Polish economic ties.”
