Paper Applications (via An Post)

The Passport Service strongly advises that you apply at least six weeks ahead of your intended date of travel. Always check you and your family’s passport expiry date before you book a trip. If you require your passport to be renewed in a timeframe shorter than what is offered by Passport Express or the Online Passport Renewal Service, you can make an appointment for the service at the Passport Service in Dublin or Cork. Appointments must be booked online.

For those who need to renew their passport and are travelling within the next three days, the Passport Service operates a limited rapid renewal service at the Passport Office in Dublin. This service is strictly by appointment only. There are a limited number of appointments available per day and proof of travel will be required.
