Irish Studies in Ljubljana and Rijeka

The Embassy of Ireland in Ljubljana and the Embassy of Ireland in Zagreb are supporting a series of guest lectures in the University of Ljubljana and the University of Rijeka.  Selected lecturers will be offering insights into Irish literature, history and culture with lectures at the English Departments of the respective Universities in Ljubljana and Rijeka.

The first lectures will take place in the Faculty of Arts (Filozofska Fakulteta) in Ljubljana, AškerĨeva cesta 2 and are open to everyone:

  • 15 May 2019: Dr. Roisín Higgins, ‘Myth, Memory and Meaning: Commemorating the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland’
  • 29 May 2019: Dr. Clare Wallace, ‘Feminist Attachments and Gender Politics in Twenty-First Century Irish Theatre’
