St. Patrick’s Day visit by Irish Minister of State for Integration

St. Patrick’s Day visit by Irish Minister of State for Integration

Minister of State for Community Development, Integration and Charities Joe O’Brien visited Poland from 15-18 March 2023.

A key focus of his visit was on the welcome that Poland has given to its neighbours from Ukraine since the full-scale Russian invasion last year. In Warsaw, he met the Polish Minister for Integration Agnieszka Ścigaj and visited Ukraine House. In Rzeszów, he met Mayor Konrad Fijołek and the Governor of the Subcarpathian region, Ewa Leniart and visited a UNHCR Protection Hub. During his visit, the Minister also met regional and national representatives of UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM, the Polish Red Cross and the Order of Malta. He rounded off his visit at a St. Patrick’s Day reception where he met representatives of the Irish community, Polish civil society and other friends of Ireland.
