Global Greening Initiative 2018

Hanoi Global Greening 2018

Ireland's National Day, St. Patrick's Day, is coming, and all around the world people of Irish heritage and friends of Ireland celebrate the day.

Since 2010 a very special initiative called 'Ireland's Global Greening' has grown to become a significant worldwide campaign in which landmark sites (stadiums, statues, museums and towers…) around the world 'turn green' to mark St. Patrick's Day.

The Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam is pleased that the City of Hanoi will join the Global Greening Initiative on St. Patrick's Day 2018. This year, the Pen Monument in Hoan Kiem Lake will join over 300 of the world's most famous landmarks in over 32 countries around the world set to go green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day – Ireland's national day.

The Green Lighting Ceremony will be followed by 'Ireland Day' - a family-friendly public event that promote Ireland Vietnam bilateral relations, organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS), a partner of the Embassy. We are delighted that the Traditional Irish Music Society of University College Dublin (UCD Tradsoc) will join us and bring some of the best Irish music and dance.

Time: 18:00 – 21:00 Saturday 17th March 2018

Venue: Pen Monument, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi
