17-19 October: Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on a State Visit to Ireland
H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades and officials, is making a State Visit to Ireland on 17-19 October.
This is a great occasion for enhancing the excellent relations between our two Countries.

In 2016, NI-CO (Northern Ireland Co-operation Overseas) is offering a unique opportunity for a bi-communal team of Cypriot researchers to visit Northern Ireland to evaluate the delivery and impact of EU Peace funding and to derive lessons for Cyprus’s reconciliation work and use of international funding mechanisms.

15 March: Nicosia in Global Greening for St. Patrick's Day
This year, Nicosia is again joining the global Irish family festivities. At 18:30 on Tuesday 15th March 2016, the lights will be turned on in the presence of Irish Ambassador, Nicholas Twist and the Deputy Mayor of Nicosia, Eleni Loucaidou, launching the "Greening" of Nicosia Town Hall.
12 February: Irish Ambassador opens joint exhibition
Ambassador Nicholas Twist performed the official opening at Apocalypse Gallery of Synthesis, the joint exhibition by Valerie Brennan and Chiaki Kamakawa. The exhibition runs until 24 February 2016.

The Department of Defence are compiling an official register of relatives of participants in the Easter Rising for the purpose of invitations to Ireland 2016 commemorative events, particularly the Easter Sunday parade (27th March 2016) and evening reception in Dublin Castle.

The first episode of the RTE Player International series on the Wild Atlantic Way was broadcast on Sunday July 26th and that the second and third episodes will follow on Sunday August 2nd and Sunday August 9th respectively. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD together with An Tánaiste, Joan Burton TD, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charlie Flanagan TD, and Minister of State for Diaspora Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan TD have launched Global Irish: Ireland’s Diaspora Policy.
Global Irish is the first clear statement of the Government’s policy on the diaspora. The policy recognises the unique and important relationship between Ireland and its diaspora and sets out actions to nurture and develop this relationship, and to engage the diaspora.
