Embassy arrangements in light of Covid-19

Embassy Services

In order to provide a safe environment for our staff and our visitors, and adhere to necessary public health measures, as of December 2nd the Embassy is open again but operating at reduced capacity.

Visits to the Embassy will be by appointment Monday to Friday, from 9.30 to 12.30 and 2.30 to 4.30.

The Embassy team continues to be available to answer queries by phone and email at +44(0) 207 235 2171 or irishembassylondon@dfa.ie.

Passport Services

Our Passport Office on Cromwell Road is not yet open to the public but you can find information on passport applications here and our team remain available to answer urgent queries.

You can contact the Passport Office +44(0) 2073734339 between 09.00-17.00, Monday to Friday. Our customer care team is available to handle queries via WebChat from 09:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday.

Queries can also be directed to passportlondon@dfa.ie and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Travel

All passengers arriving in Ireland from Great Britain will still need to fill in an online form called the Covid-19 Passenger Locator Form.

Public health guidelines continue to apply for anyone arriving into Ireland from Great Britain, including restricting your movements for 14 days. Certain categories of travellers with an essential function or need will not be required to undergo quarantine.

You can view the full list of exemptions here. If eligible for an exemption, you may be asked for documentation to show evidence of this.

Persons travelling from Great Britain can claim an exemption from restricted movements after 5 days, if they can produce a negative PCR result from a test taken a minimum of 5 days after arrival in Ireland

Irish citizens with a consular query during regular working hours should email us at irishembassylondon@dfa.ie and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

If you have an urgent query or require assistance in case of emergency out of hours, please contact the main Embassy number 02072352171 and leave a message for the Duty Officer who will then contact you as soon as possible.
