Joint Statement on Pride Month 2023 - Moldova

Chisinau, June 8, 2023 –

June is Pride Month, when we celebrate the vibrant LGBTQI+ community worldwide, commemorate the ongoing struggle for human rights, and renew our commitment to the inclusion, participation, and protection of all people irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

In that spirit, we express solidarity with LGBTQI+ persons in the Republic of Moldova and around the world, and reaffirm that LGBTQI+ rights are human rights. As stated in the Universal Declaration for Human Rights, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, everyone is entitled to all rights -- including the right to peaceful assembly, the right to freedom of association, the right to freedom of expression, and the right to equal protection under the law.

Our countries have made significant strides in ensuring full and equal rights for LGBTQI+ persons, and we will continue to make progress by working together. We are collectively committed to working with our partners in the Republic of Moldova and around the world to advance human rights and equality for all.

Iunie este Luna Mândriei, atunci când sărbătorim comunitatea vibrantă LGBTQI+ din întreaga lume, comemorăm lupta continuă pentru drepturile omului și ne reînnoim angajamentul față de incluziune, participare și protecție a tuturor, indiferent de orientarea sexuală sau identitatea de gen.

În acest spirit, ne exprimăm solidaritatea cu persoanele LGBTQI+ din Republica Moldova și din întreaga lume, și reafirmăm că drepturile LGBTQI+ sunt drepturi ale omului. Așa cum prevede Declarația Universală a Drepturilor Omului, care a fost adoptată acum 75 de ani, fiecare om se poate prevala de toate drepturile, inclusiv de dreptul la întrunire pașnică, dreptul la libertatea de asociere, dreptul la libertatea de exprimare și dreptul la o egală protecție a legii.

Țările noastre au depus eforturi semnificative în asigurarea drepturilor depline și egale pentru persoanele LGBTQI+, și noi vom continua să facem progrese, lucrând împreună. Ne angajăm colectiv să lucrăm cu partenerii noștri din Republica Moldova și din întreaga lume pentru a promova drepturile omului și egalitatea pentru toți.
