Minister for European Affairs Thomas Byrne Visits New York

This week, the Consulate welcomed Minister of State for European Affairs Thomas Byrne for a two-day programme of events with key partners in New York City and at the United Nations.

On Tuesday 7 June, the Minister addressed the New York City Bar Association on the theme of "Brexit, the Protocol and the Urgency of Partnership." That evening, Consul General Helena Nolan welcomed members of New York GAA and Gaelic sports clubs to the Consulate to celebrate the resumption and development of GAA activities in New York,

On Wednesday 8 June, Minister Byrne visited Fordham Law School for a discussion on Brexit, Northern Ireland and Legacy Issues, after which he met with members of the European American Chamber of Commerce to emphasise the vital importance of the transatlantic trade relationship for continued economic growth.
